Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how HandyFigures ("we", "us") handles information when you use handyfigures.com. Our guiding principle is simple: we collect as little as possible, and the calculators themselves collect nothing.
The numbers you enter stay in your browser
Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your web browser (client-side). The figures you type — room sizes, prices, project details — are processed locally by the calculator and are not uploaded by it.
The calculators save your project (rooms, beds, materials) in your browser's local storage so you can pick up where you left off. That data lives only on your own device; we cannot see, access or recover it. You can delete it at any time with the tool's Clear button, or by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Sharing a calculation
New calculation links store their input data after the # in the URL. That fragment is not part of the HTTP request sent to the web server. Anyone who receives the full link, and any app into which you paste it, can read its contents. Share only information you are comfortable disclosing.
Older calculation links used query parameters after a ?. Opening one sends those parameters to the hosting provider as part of the initial page request. The calculator reads compatible older links and moves their data into a fragment, but it cannot undo that initial request. Create a new link before sharing again.
Analytics
Any analytics we use is privacy-friendly and aggregate-only: no cookies that track you across sites, no personally identifiable information. At most we see things like page views and rough country/device breakdowns — not individuals.
Advertising and cookies
Advertising is currently disabled: this site does not load the Google AdSense script or render ad slots. If advertising is enabled in the future, third-party vendors — including Google — may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads, and this policy will be updated to describe the deployed behavior.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visitingGoogle Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising ataboutads.info/choices.
- Advertising will not be enabled until any consent flow required for the served regions has been implemented and verified, including a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) where required.
Affiliate links
Some pages may contain affiliate links. If you click one and buy a product, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. See our Ad & Affiliate Disclosure. Clicking such links may set cookies controlled by the destination service, governed by their own privacy policies.
Website delivery
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes connection information such as IP addresses and request metadata to deliver and secure the site. This is separate from the figures you enter in a calculator. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its handling of that information. Emails you choose to send are processed by the email services delivering them.
Contacting us
If you email us via the address on our Contact page, we use your message only to reply to you. We don't add you to any marketing list.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use the ad opt-out links above, and use the site without providing any personal information. We do not provide user accounts or store your calculator inputs on our server; anything a calculator saves locally on your device can be removed with its Clear button or via your browser's site-data settings.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site grows (for example, when advertising is switched on). We'll revise the "last updated" date above when we do.
